Day Fifteen of #30dayscleansingchallenge

We all are ardent fanatics of Popeye the sailor man, aren’t we? But we do not have much adoration of what he ate all the time :P Keep thinking— that is todays’s creation.

I went to the horticultural society of tamilnadu to get some indoor plants, but they were too expensive so I only learnt about what can be kept in my room. Maybe I’ll get it from elsewhere. Will update on my collection once everything is set. This place is so beautiful that I usually spend time there under the huge trees rather than buying plants. Plants/trees supply so much oxygen that rejuvenate us instantly. You all should also get some plants and make your house green and cool— best summer remedy!

Okay, now what are gonna do today? Something green and powerful. It is the best food on the planet and has everything to make us strong like Popeye that made him sing:

I’m Popeye the Sailor Man. I'm Popeye the Sailor Man.

I'm strong to the finich, cause I eats me Spinach.

I'm Popeye the Sailor Man.

Yes, its Spinach! :D This has been our nightmare during our childhood, until now when we understand other complications in a human body and how this miraculous green herb will be our salvation.

  • The glycocyclerolipids found in spinach strengthens the digestive tract lining, thereby preventing any unwanted inflammation in that part of the body that can cause harm.

  • Rich in anti-inflammatory properties

  • High levels of chlorophyll helps bind together hydrocarbons, aflatoxins and other hydrophobic molecules that may be associated with cancer and expels them.

I can keep on adding benefits from spinach but lets get into the fun part— eating it! Spinach is prepared by various ways allover the globe and most of them eat raw (in salads or smoothies). We are going to prepare it in a delicious way.

  1. Remove roots and wash the shoots well many times to remove soil particles.

  2. Loose excess water by draining well and chop them.

  3. Boil some water and put these leaves along with some yellow dal in a cooker and pressure cook it for three mins until soft.

  4. Add some chopped garlic, onion and tomato at the last couple of mins of boiling.

  5. Blend everything with some salt in a food processor until a curry like consistency is reached.

  6. Serve with Anything!

I had with some millets. Watch Popeye series during consumption for added benefits :P

Also sing along to activate the enzymes:

I’m Popeye the Sailor Man. I'm Popeye the Sailor Man.

I'm strong to the finich, cause I eats me Spinach.

I'm Popeye the Sailor Man.
