Day Eighteen of #30dayscleansingchallenge

There are some days then you feel hungry like crazy throughout the day after a good workout. I am experiencing those! I resumed my bare foot running at the sea shore recently, got my metabolism kick started and I am ravenously famished (like a caterpillar) :P About the bare foot running, I just don't wear fancy shoes instead use my natural feet to run on the sand along the shore. The mist of the ocean spray refreshes me with the cool morning breeze. The sand particles massage my feet as I sprint through them. My lungs get pumped with fresh load of oxygen for free. This is the crucial part of detox- getting toxins out through food and exercises.

It is beautiful what nature has to offer.

It is up to us to love it for our need or destroy it for our greed.

So with all the enlightenment from mother nature, I was fuelling myself with heavy bombardments of locally available fruits because cherries and berries are out of season (still awaiting juicy mangoes, though)!

Papayas:

  • Rich in fibre, vitamin C and antioxidants that prevent cholesterol build up in arteries.

  • High amount of dietary fibre aides weight loss by promoting a feeling of fullness and controlling cravings.

  • The vitamins and phytonutrients present prevent development of heart disease and diabetes.

  • Rich in Vitamin A and flavonoids like beta-carotene, zeaxanthin, cyptoxanthin and lutein which keep the mucus membranes in the eyes healthy, preventing them from damage.

  • Digestive enzyme known as papain along with fibre helps improve your digestive health.

  • Enzyme papain also helps in regulating and easing flow during menstrual periods.

Apples: We have experienced the benefits of apple in day 11 smoothie.

Figs:

  • High concentration of fiber helps promote healthy, regular bowel function and prevents constipation.

  • Contain phenol, Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids that reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.

  • The presence of fiber helps to stimulate the elimination of free radicals and other cancer causing substances, particularly in the colon, since fiber increases the healthy movement of the bowels.

  • Potassium helps to regulate the amount of sugar which is absorbed into the body after meals.

  • Calcium is one of the most important components in strengthening bones, and reducing the risk of osteoporosis.

  • Phosphorus encourages bone formation and spurs regrowth if there is any damage or degradation to bones.

Bananas:

  • Help overcome depression due to high levels of tryptophan, which is converted into serotonin -- the happy-mood brain neurotransmitter.

  • Protect against muscle cramps during workouts and night time leg cramps.

  • Reduce PMS, regulate blood sugar and produce stress-relieving relaxation.

  • Help with the production of white blood cells, all due to high levels of vitamin B-6.

  • Prevent kidney cancer, protect the eyes against macular degeneration and build strong bones by increasing calcium absorption.

These amazing fruits are chopped and blended to make a thick smoothie. I also decorated the bowl with:

chia seeds, raisins, sunflower seeds, cacao nibs, almonds and rolled oats. This is totally for visual effects, but fell free to add anything on top to enhance the aesthetic value of this nourishing smoothie bowl. They are heavy and filling, and can be a meal. So, what are you waiting for? Make some smoothie bowls and recharge when needed.

Kick yourself out of the bed and start romancing early mornings at the coast,

because that will satisfy you the most.
