Day Ten of #30dayscleansingchallenge

All of a sudden I’m running out of food ideas and I had no aim of producing any more blog posts. Maybe I just became lazy; until late afternoon when I was foraging the house for some different food source and discovered the world’s healthiest instant food. Talk about fast food to suffice huger quickly than a sandwich. Say hello to ‘Flattened Red Shorgum’ or Irumbu cholam avul’. You must of heard about Flattened Rice or Poha and how it is incredible and easy for a quick breakfast or snack. Well, this one is red shorgum (due to the iron content in them) millets flattened like poha.

One just has to wet it with water and let it soak up for a few mins and garnish - that’s it! I ate mine with some coconut flakes and jaggery. Some people even make savoury dishes like upma with it. I will post about it if I try.

I got this from Organic Farmers Market. It is not very common like Rice poha but have seen in certain health food stores in the city. There are instant cereals in boxes made with millets. But I would not advocate such processed foods even thought the ingredient is healthy. Today’s post is short and non-boring as we already know how millets are excellent for our body and the planet. So look out for millet poha, and if you find some, go crazy! :D
